Remote Sensing has grown from aerial photography in its earliest stages to utilizing electronic-optical sensors which produce multispectral images that are analyzed by computer software. Physical characteristics and causes of natural disasters of geological origin such as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunami, landslides, hurricanes and meteor impacts. We believe that changing our name to the Department of Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences does justice to the balance of research and teaching of our faculty.
